For Google Workspace Users
The Browser Extension offers a convenient way to create a Project directly from a Google Sheet questionnaire or Google Doc proposal you've received, eliminating the need to switch between applications. Follow these steps to create a project using the Browser Extension
Note: The below method is applicable to only if the primary document is a Google Sheet or Google Doc in "My Drive". If you have received a questionnaire in Excel or proposal in Word via email, you can upload it into your Drive, open it in Google Sheets or Google Docs respectively and start creating a Project from there.
Step 1: Access the Extension
- Go to the Google Sheet questionnaire or Google Doc proposal you want to Autofill and collaborate on.
- Click on the SiftHub Browser Extension and login using your credentials.
Step 2: Navigate to the Projects Tab
- Go to the 'Projects' tab in the top menu
- Click on the Create Project button.
Step 3: Grant Access
On clicking Create Project, you'll be prompted to grant edit access of the document to SiftHub, if you haven't already done so. This is required so SiftHub can create an outline of the Project and Autofill it.
To grant access, add the following email address - g-integrations@sifthub.io as an Editor to the document.
Step 4: Continue to the Web App
- After granting access, click Continue. This will redirect you to the Project Creation page within the Web App.
- Follow the steps outlined in the "Creating a Project Using the Web App" section to fill in the required project details. Note: In the form that opens, the "Primary Document" field will be pre-populated with the Google Sheet questionnaire or Google Doc proposal from which you started creating the Project.
Creating a Project vs Autofilling the Document
You will be prompted to create a Project when you try to Autofill in a Google Sheet questionnaire or Autofill in a Google Doc proposal. If you select "Create Project", you will be taken through the rest of the Project Creation workflow as mentioned above.
When should you create a Project vs just Autofill?
You should create a new Project for your autofill activity if:
- You have a large questionnaire in a spreadsheet with multiple tabs & sections or a large proposal in a document - creating a Project will ensure all questions across all tabs are auto-filled at once.
- You need to collaborate with teammates, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to craft responses, review them and get them approved
- You need to be able to track the progress of each questionnaire or proposal, stay on top of due dates, and be informed of completion
- Your customer or prospect requires multiple supporting documents and additional context that need to be managed and sent with the primary questionnaire
