Permissions Required: Ensure you have the following access and permissions before you begin the setup, or contact the respective administrator for the same.
- Slack Workspace Admin access: To install the SiftHub app Slack app in the workspace
- SiftHub Admin or Account Owner role: To activate the Bot from the SiftHub Web App > Connectors > Bots page.
Step 1. Installing the Slack app
- To install the SiftHub Slack app, go to the following link - Bots
- Click on Activate
- If Slack Integration is already active, you would see the following screen
- If Slack Integration is not active, you will be redirected to the app installation page.
- Select the Workspace that you want to connect (from the top right corner).
- Click on Allow
- If the app was installed successfully, you should see the following screen
Step 2. Generate responses using SiftHub Slack Bot Connector
- Ask in Public and Private Channels
- For the SifHub Bot to generate a response, you need to mention @SiftHub and put in your query
- If the SiftHub App is not added to the channel you would see a message asking you to invite the SiftHub app to the channel.
- Click on Invite them
- For the SifHub Bot to generate a response, you need to mention @SiftHub and put in your query
- Direct message with the SiftHub Bot
- In your workspace, on the left bottom, select Apps -> SiftHub app
- In the Messages tab, and you can ask a question (without mentioning @SiftHub) and get a reply from the bot with the answer from your connected sources
- In your workspace, on the left bottom, select Apps -> SiftHub app
