Note: This guide should be followed if users are unable to install the SiftHub Add-in directly from Microsoft AppSource due to restrictions in their Microsoft 365 account. If installation from AppSource is allowed, users can simply install the Add-in themselves without requiring admin involvement.
Who Should Complete this Setup
If you are a Microsoft 365 Admin for your organization, please follow the steps in this guide to complete the setup for SiftHub Add-in.
If you are not a Microsoft 365 Admin for your organization but would like to install the SiftHub Add-in for your Microsoft Office account, do not complete the setup yourself. Get in touch with an administrator at your organization and share this guide with them so they can complete the setup for your Microsoft Excel or Word.
Deploy the SiftHub Add-in for MS Excel/Word
Microsoft 365 admins can deploy the SiftHub Add-In for all or selected users of their organization by using the centralized deployment feature in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Your organization’s Information Security or IT team can manage the access provisioning and roles for all users added to SiftHub and ensure adherence to internal governance policies.
The steps for the Add-in setup are listed below. For more information, you can also refer to the Microsoft documentation here.
Time to complete: 5 mins
1. Log in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center:
- Go to admin.microsoft.com and sign in with your administrator account.
2. Navigate to Settings:

In the left-hand navigation pane, click on Settings and then select Integrated apps. Find Get Apps in the navigation pane
3. Search for SiftHub in the Get Apps section:

Click on Get apps and search for SiftHub in the search bar on the top navigation pane. Click Get it now.
Alternate step 3: If you aren’t able to install the Add-in from the AppSource, follow these steps to install the Add-in via the manifest file.
4. Specify Who Has Access:
- Choose who will have access to the add-in:
- Entire Organization: All users in the organization [Recommended for seamless access provision] .
- Specific users/groups: Select specific users or groups who can access the add-in.
- Just me: Only you (useful for testing).

Click Next after making your selection.
5. Permission

Accept the permission request being asked. Click on Next
6. Confirm and Finish:
- Review your settings and click Finish deployment to deploy the add-in.
Deployment Confirmation:
- You will receive a confirmation message that the add-in has been successfully deployed.
- It may take some time for the add-in to appear for your organization’s users based on your settings.

[For users without Admin access] Restart the desktop Microsoft Excel/ Word for the SiftHub Add-in to reflect. In the case of Microsoft Excel/ Word in the browser, refresh the tab for the SiftHub Add-in to reflect.
Alternate step 3. Install the Add-in with manifest file
If you are not able to install the Add-in from the Appsource, as specified in step 3 above, you can request your SiftHub Customer Success Manager to send you the manifest.xml file of the Add-in.
Below are the steps to activate the Add-in via the manifest file

Click on Upload custom apps on the right side.
- Select the option I have the manifest file (.xml) on this device.

Click on Choose file and browse to the location of your manifest.xml file, then click Open.
Once uploaded, follow steps 4 onward to complete the rest of the Add-in deployment
Update / Remove SiftHub Add-in
1. Log in to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center:
- Go to admin.microsoft.com and sign in with your administrator account.
2. Navigate to Settings:
- In the left-hand navigation pane, click on Settings and then select Integrated apps.
3. Click on the SiftHub Addin
4. Click on the Update or Remove option

To update the accesses for users or update the manifest file, click on the Update add-in option and follow the steps same as install add-in. To remove the add-in, click on the Remove app option and follow the removal steps.
Troubleshooting:
Autofill is not working in Excel/Word file
Please ensure you are working in a file hosted on SharePoint and not on OneDrive to ensure Autofill works properly.
Add-in is not loading in desktop edition of Excel or Word
If you face issues with accessing the Add-in on Word or Excel, please complete the below steps to resolve the issue.
- Click on Add-ins from the ribbon menu

In the popup that opens, click on More Add-ins on the bottom right of the window

In the Office Add-ins window that opens up subsequently, click on the Admin Managed tab and click Refresh on the top right corner of the window
For Excel:

- This refreshes the SiftHub Add-in installed on your Desktop application for Excel or Word and updates it to the latest version available.
- Try performing actions using the Add-in now. The issue with long loading times or error with loading the Add-in should be resolved.
