Different teams throughout the sales and customer success process gather and share product/service information externally with prospects and clients for various specific needs.
Users might need to segregate knowledge sources used in response generation by creating Collections for specific usage, assigning and filtering through Document Tags or simply restricting the sources from where information is pulled by toggling the filters for each of your Documents, Q&As, enabled Connectors like Google Drive, Notion etc or linked external websites.
To access Source Filters, click on the funnel icon on the bottom left of the Instruction Prompts input box in Copilot -> Answer tab of the Browser Extension.
What Filters Are Available
You can select the sources used in SiftHub’s generated response for a query using the below filters:
-
Sources: All the connected knowledge sources for your organization including the Documents and Q&A Repository as well as any other Connectors enabled for your organization are visible here.
You can select the sources from which you would like SiftHub to retrieve relevant information and generate contextual responses to your queries. All your connected knowledge is enabled for answer generation by default.
Note that even when all the Connectors enabled for your organization are selected, answers generated for your queries will not include information from files in connected sources to which you do not have access natively.
Collections: Collections are SiftHub’s solution for organizing your Repository into categorized sets of vetted content. Users can choose among Public Collections for their organization to configure the sources tapped for answer generation.
For example, your Sales and Solutions teams can create Collections and link relevant customer case studies, implementation guides and other sales enablement material for each geographic region, industry vertical or other categories to ensure prospects always receive a contextual, personalized response. They can simply enable that Collection in the filters within Generate Settings to ensure answers are only generated from its linked Documents, Q&As and other connected sources.
Tags: Add tags to your uploaded Documents and easily filter by these tags to choose which documents should be used for Autofill and Answer generation. This ensures that only relevant tagged documents are used when generating answers for a specific topic, product or category, thereby improving the accuracy and relevance of the results.
For example, you can tag documents by product line and then select the tags that match a specific product when responding to a questionnaire about that product.
For both Collections and Tags filters, when multiple options are selected, SiftHub generates answers from a merged set of Documents, Q&As and other connected knowledge such that all the distinct elements across all the selected options are included in the Sources for a generated answer.
Where Are My Filters Applied
- When you set the available filters for connected sources and click on “Apply”, the configurations are applied to all further queries for which you generate an answer.
- You can identify at a glance if the Source Filters have been modified from their default configuration. A red dot on the funnel icon indicates that a modification to the default sources was made and saved for your account.
- Saved filters are applied only to your user and are not percolated to other users in your account.
If you switch to a different browser than the one where you had saved settings and open the SiftHub extension, or log out of the extension and log back in — you will see the default Source Filters applied.
