Google Calendar Connector guide

SiftHub connects to your Google Calendar via secure OAuth, allowing individual users to grant permission for SiftHub to index event details. This integration powers context-aware search and automated pre-call preparation workflows with the SiftHub AI Teammate.

What Gets Connected

SiftHub allows you to sync your work account calendar data. This ensures only relevant meetings and context are indexed for AI generation.

  • Individual Account Connection: Each user authorizes their own Google Calendar via OAuth.

 

Supported Content

SiftHub indexes the following metadata from your connected Google Calendar:

  • Event Details: Meeting titles, descriptions, and agendas.
  • Participant Data: Attendee lists, organizer details, and guest domains.
  • Contextual Metadata: Meeting duration, frequency of interactions, and historical patterns.

 

Access Control

SiftHub respects individual privacy and mirrors your specific Google Calendar permissions:

  • User-Based Access: Search results and AI answers are generated based on the individual user’s permissions. A user can only see or utilize data from meetings they have access to in their own Google Calendar.
  • Privacy First: Unlike group-based permissions, access is handled at the individual OAuth level, ensuring that sensitive or private appointments remain visible only to the authorized owner.

 

Using Calendar Data in SiftHub

Once connected, your calendar intelligence enhances your SiftHub workspace:

  • Search & Answer Generation: Calendar events serve as verifiable sources for AI-generated Answers. When you ask, "When was our last discovery call with [Account]?", SiftHub pulls the relevant event metadata as a source.
  • Pre-Call Prep: The AI Teammate automatically scans upcoming calendar events to generate preparation briefs. These include summaries of past interactions and suggested narratives based on the attendees and agenda.

 

Content Updates

SiftHub stays synchronized with your schedule to provide the most current context:

  • Real-Time Sync: New invites and updates to meeting descriptions appear in SiftHub within 30 minutes. Individual users can sync events on demand by clicking Refresh now

     
  • Status Tracking: Cancelled or declined events are not removed; they remain indexed and are marked with their updated status (e.g., "Cancelled") to maintain a complete historical record of account touchpoints.

 

Google Calendar Setup

Welcome to your guide to setting up your Google Calendar Connector for the SiftHub Platform. Individual users will have to connect their Google calendar by clicking on Connectors -> My Apps -> Google Calendar -> Connect. This document lists the detailed steps for the same.

To activate the Google Calendar connector, follow the steps below

  1. Login to the SiftHub web app
  2. Go to the ‘Connectors’ → ‘My Apps’ list by clicking here
  3. Click on Connect in Google Calendar
  4. Select your account
  1. Click on Continue
  2. Keep all requested permissions checked and click on Continue
  3. Once its successful, you should be redirected to SiftHub -> Connectors -> My Apps
