SiftHub automatically creates and tracks tasks as you collaborate on Projects, and provides a centralized view of all your assignments and mentions across all your Projects.
My Tasks is available in two places:
- The My Tasks page in the SiftHub Web App — accessible from the left navigation menu, available to all users
- The My Tasks tab in the Browser Extension — available to Google Workspace users working in Google Sheets or Docs
Task Creation and Types
Tasks are automatically generated when:
- You are assigned content requests
- You receive review requests for sections/questions
- An assignee marks a request as updated
There are two types of tasks: Content request and Content review
Each task includes:
- Task type
- Section/Question title
- Project name
- Due date (if set)
- Direct links to the corresponding Section / Question
Managing Your Tasks
The My Tasks tab has 2 sub-tabs:
In Progress Tab
- Shows all active assignments awaiting your action
- Tasks remain here until you complete the requested action:
- For content requests: Until you "Mark as Updated"
- For reviews: Until you "Approve" or "Reject"
- Click any task to open the relevant question/section directly:
- In the Google Sheet with the Browser Extension (Google Workspace projects)
- In Excel with the MS Add-in (Microsoft 365 projects)
- In the Web App table view (uploaded file / Web App projects)
- In the web form inside the Web App (for non-collaborator platform users)
Completed Tab
- Displays all finished tasks
- Tasks move here automatically when:
- You complete a content update
- You approve/reject a review request
@mentions Tab
- Shows all comments where you have been @mentioned, across all projects
- Each mention entry shows:
- Who mentioned you
- The question or section title
- The project name
- A preview of the comment
- Time of the mention
- Click any mention to open the relevant question/section directly
- Mentions are not cleared when actioned — they remain visible for reference
Notifications
When a question / section is assigned to you or you are @mentioned in a comment, you are notified via:
- Email — with full context and a direct link to the question/section
-
Slack — if your workspace has the SiftHub Slack integration enabled, you receive a Slack message with the same details and a "Go to Question" button
Reach out to your Customer Success Manager to configure the notification frequency and medium for your account.
