SiftHub's Jira Connector integrates your Jira workspace content into SiftHub, allowing you to search and get AI-generated answers from your Jira projects, issues, comments, and attachments directly through the SiftHub Platform.
What Gets Connected
SiftHub lets you selectively connect:
- Specific projects
-
All issues within connected projects, including:
- Issue descriptions
- Comments
- Attachments
- Project and issue metadata (creation date, last modified date, issue type, status, assignees)
This way, SiftHub only reads and indexes the content from projects you explicitly allow it to access.

Supported Content
Projects and Issues
- Complete project information
- Issue titles and descriptions
- Issue metadata (type, status, priority, assignees, dates)
- All comments and replies within issues
Attachments
Supported file formats:
- Word documents (.doc, .docx)
- PowerPoint presentations (.ppt, .pptx)
- Excel spreadsheets (.xls, .xlsx)
- PDF files (.pdf)
- CSV files (.csv)
- Text files (.txt)
Note: Attachments up to 1 GB in size will be indexed.
How It Works
Once connected, SiftHub:
- Indexes content from selected projects
- Syncs content updates every day to capture any changes
- Maintains all native Jira permissions
- Makes the content searchable and available for AI-generated answers
Access Control
SiftHub strictly respects Jira's native permissions:
- Users only see content from projects they have direct access to
- Access automatically updates when permissions change in Jira
- Different users may see different search results based on their access rights
- Deleted/archived/suspended users automatically lose access
Note: For restricted projects, the SiftHub app needs to be added as a user to enable indexing.
Using Jira Content in SiftHub
Your connected Jira content appears in:
- Search results with relevant snippets and metadata
- AI-generated Answers and document Autofill as verified sources
- Conversations and Narratives with SiftMate
Comments appear as individual items linked to their parent issue and project, similar to how Slack messages are displayed.
Clicking any result opens the original issue or comment in Jira.
Content Updates
New or modified content appears in SiftHub within 24 hours
Updates include:
- New issues and comments
- Issue modifications
- Attachment updates
- Permission changes
- Deletions
Deleted content is automatically removed from SiftHub results.

- Click on Project Settings (gear icon)
- Click on People or Permissions
- Search for SiftHub
