SiftHub connects to your Crayon competitive intelligence platform and indexes your battlecards and Sparks (Crayon’s AI-generated competitive briefings). Your team can then search competitive content and get AI-generated answers to questions like “How do we win against Competitor X?” or “What changed in Competitor Y’s pricing?” without leaving SiftHub.
What Gets Connected
You choose what SiftHub indexes from Crayon:
- All content: every battlecard, plus Sparks from the last 30 days, that the Crayon account behind the API key can see.
- Specific content: only the battlecards or Sparks you select.
SiftHub reads only the content you allow.
Supported Content
| Content type | Supported | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Battlecards | ✅ Yes | All battlecards and their tiles (for example Positioning, Pricing, Objection Handling, Differentiators) |
| Sparks | ✅ Yes | AI-generated competitive briefings from the last 30 days |
| Answers (Crayon’s generative Q&A) | ❌ No | — |
| Competitors, Boards, Posts, Live Tiles, Press Releases, Leaderboards, Competitor Profile Tiles | ❌ No | Not currently available through Crayon’s API |
Note: Sparks older than 30 days are removed from SiftHub automatically. They capture competitive activity at a point in time, so SiftHub keeps only recent briefings to make sure answers reflect current intel.
How It Works
- Battlecards: SiftHub indexes each battlecard tile by tile. A question about a competitor’s pricing finds the Pricing tile directly. SiftHub then uses the whole battlecard as context, so answers to broader questions like “How do we win against Competitor X?” can draw on every relevant tile.
- Sparks: SiftHub indexes each Spark as a whole briefing. Answers that use a Spark include its date, so your team knows how current the information is.
- Citations: Each answer links to its source and shows the competitor and tile name, for example “Competitor X — Pricing”. Clicking a citation opens the original content in Crayon.
Access Control
Crayon permissions are not carried into SiftHub. Every active user in your SiftHub workspace can see all indexed Crayon content.
Important: All SiftHub users can see whatever Crayon content you connect. If you’re connecting all content, make sure everything the Crayon account behind the API key can see is appropriate for your whole workspace. To share only some content, connect specific battlecards or Sparks instead.
Using Crayon Content in SiftHub
After the connector is active, Crayon content appears in:
- Search: Battlecards and Sparks show up in search results across SiftHub.
- Answer: AI-generated answers in the browser extension and bots can cite Crayon content as a source.
- Autofill: Competitive questions in RFPs and questionnaires can use Crayon content as a verified source.
- AI Teammate: Use Crayon intel to build battlecards, competitive narratives and deal-specific positioning.
- Collections: Add individual battlecards or Sparks to a Collection to group competitive content for a specific team or use case.
Content Updates
| Content | Sync frequency | What’s picked up |
|---|---|---|
| Battlecards | Once a day | New battlecards, edited tiles, added or removed tiles, and deleted battlecards |
| Sparks | Once a day | New Sparks are added. Sparks older than 30 days, or no longer available in Crayon, are removed |
Crayon Connector Setup
Setup takes about 2 minutes. You generate an API key in Crayon and share it with your SiftHub Customer Success Manager (CSM), who activates the connector.
Before you begin
- You need a Crayon Admin or Integrator role.
- Decide what to connect: all battlecards and Sparks, or only specific ones. If you’re connecting all content, generate the key from an account that can see only content you’re happy to share with all SiftHub users (see Access Control).
Step 1: Generate a Crayon API key
- Sign in to Crayon as an Admin or Integrator.
- Go to Admin → API Keys.
- Click Create New API Key.
- Copy the API key and store it securely.
Step 2: Share the API key and content selection with your CSM
Send the API key to your SiftHub CSM through a secure channel, such as a password manager share or encrypted message. Don’t send it in plain-text email or chat. If you’re connecting specific battlecards or Sparks, include links to them.
Activate the Crayon Connector
Your CSM uses your API key to activate the connector and sets what it indexes. Tell your CSM which option you want:
| Option | What to share with your CSM |
|---|---|
| All battlecards and Sparks | The API key only |
| Specific battlecards | The API key, plus links to the battlecards you want to include |
| Specific Sparks | The API key, plus links to the Sparks you want to include |
Note: Each Spark is removed from SiftHub 30 days after its date, even if you selected it.
Time to Activation
Activation takes about 24 hours after your CSM receives the API key. The first sync indexes all available battlecards and Sparks from the last 30 days.
